Despite Morrison's death, The Doors lived on, having a rather unsuccessful career without him. They only released 3 other albums, with very little success with them.

"The Mosquito" by The Doors was their last song that charted.

Their most popular album after Morrison's death (and most likely of all time) was their Greatest Hits Album released a decade after Morrison's death, reaching diamond in US sales (Billboard).

Even after a very short career as The Doors, Jim Morrison and the rest of the band were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993 (forbes.com).

Morrison, while dying in 1971, continued to have fame all through the 80's and 90's with Oliver Stone releasing feature length film "The Doors" in 1991 starring Val Kilmer (billboard.com).
